The electric dehydrator relies on the electric field force to demulsify and dehydrate the water-in-oil emulsion. It has high efficiency and fast speed, and is widely used in various oil fields.
At present, the electric dehydrator uses a sinusoidal AC power supply with a power frequency of 50 Hz. With the development of high-reliability high-power electronic switching device IGBT, a new type of crude oil dehydration (salt) power supply equipment has been developed using this device. The advantages are as follows:
(1)The output voltage amplitude is adjustable. The electric dehydration of crude oil requires a certain electric field strength, but the strength must be appropriate. Too high will produce electrical dispersion, so that the water droplets will be suspended in the crude oil with finer particles; too low water droplets can not cause oscillating coalescence and dipole coalescence, The rapid separation of oil and water cannot be achieved. The amplitude of the output voltage of the rectangular wave AC power supply is adjustable to optimize the dehydration electric field strength.
(2)The frequency is continuous between 400 Hz and 5000 Hz. The reason why the small water beads can be suspended in the crude oil and can be stable for a long time is because there is an emulsified film around the water beads. The emulsified film can not only have a strong binding force with water beads, but also have a strong binding force with crude oil. To make the water beads settle quickly, the film must be broken. Generally, the small water beads in the crude oil contain positive and negative ions of salts. After the high-voltage AC electric field is added to the crude oil, the small water beads are polarized. Generate internal frictional heat and continuously overcome the film strength. The polarized small water beads combine to form large water beads, which accelerate the sedimentation and separate the oil and water. The frequency of the alternating electric field also has a value suitable for dehydration. At this frequency, the average impact force is strong. This new crude oil dehydration power supply frequency is continuously available from 400 Hz to 5000 Hz.
