Key Equipment Shipped: Two Large Electric Desalting Tanks Boost Gulf Region Energy Project

Sort:Company News Release time:2025-10-10 454Views

In September 2025, two large-scale electric desalting tanks – core equipment for the BU HASA AIPS ON-PLOT FACILITIES (TRAIN6) Project (Gulf TRAIN6 Project) – were smoothly loaded onto a ship at Shanghai Port. The project is EPC-contracted by CPECC Gulf Company (a subsidiary of China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation).

As the transport ship departed, these tanks – hailed as the "heart of the crude oil processing system" – are now heading to the Gulf Region. Built to world-class technical standards with full-process quality control, they will ensure efficient crude oil processing for the project and contribute "Made-in-China" strength to stable energy supply in the region.

Ultra-High Standard Equipment: Meeting the Needs of Large-Scale Energy Projects

As the core equipment of the crude oil processing system for the Gulf TRAIN6 Project, the electric desalting tanks delivered this time meet top-tier industry standards in both specification design and performance parameters, fully adapting to the project’s large-scale operation requirements.

Dimensional Adaptability:

With an inner diameter of 3,600 mm and a total length of 21,000 mm, the tanks’ large capacity can handle the project’s daily crude oil desalting and dehydration needs of ten thousand tons. This effectively relieves the "throughput pressure" of the project’s crude oil pre-treatment process and lays a solid foundation for the efficient advancement of subsequent production links such as refining, chemical processing and transportation.

Professional Material Selection:

The main body of the equipment is made of high-quality SA-516 Gr.70N steel. This material not only excels in tensile strength and low-temperature toughness but also strictly complies with the project’s customized technical requirements: sulfur content ≤ 0.002%, phosphorus content ≤ 0.01%, carbon content ≤ 0.20%, carbon equivalent (CE) ≤ 0.38%, and hardness ≤ HRC 22.

Its precise composition and performance parameters ensure the equipment operates stably for a long time under complex working conditions such as high temperature and high humidity in the Gulf Region, effectively avoiding potential risks like corrosion and deformation.

Rigorous Full-Process Certification: Building a "Protective Net" for Safe Equipment Operation

To ensure the reliability of the core equipment for the energy project, this batch of electric desalting tanks has undergone multiple rounds of international authoritative testing and certification, achieving full-chain quality closed-loop management "from raw material incoming inspection to finished product delivery".

1. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Check

It has passed SA-578 Level-C non-destructive testing. This standard can accurately identify tiny defects in the equipment’s welds and base material, fundamentally eliminating potential safety hazards during operation.

2. International Certification Endorsement

It holds the EN10204 Level 3.2 certification. As one of the internationally recognized highest-level product quality certifications in the EU and global markets, this certificate means the entire process of the equipment—from raw material procurement, manufacturing to finished product inspection—has been witnessed and audited on-site by a third-party authoritative organization, with every indicator traceable and verifiable.

3. Extreme Environment Verification

It has successfully passed the -29℃ low-temperature impact test. This fully verifies the equipment’s impact resistance under extreme low-temperature conditions, providing key technical support for its adaptation to operating scenarios in the Gulf Region, such as large day-night temperature differences and occasional low-temperature weather.

Accelerating Project Implementation: Deepening Cooperation to Support Regional Energy Development

The smooth shipment of these two electric desalting tanks marks the official entry of the Gulf TRAIN6 Project into the critical phase of core equipment installation and commissioning. It is expected to directly advance the project construction schedule, laying a solid foundation for the project to start production on schedule and release greater supply capacity as soon as possible.

Looking ahead, the company will continue to deepen technical collaboration and strengthen schedule alignment to ensure the timely delivery of subsequent batches of equipment. Meanwhile, relying on this project, it will further explore new models of energy cooperation in the Gulf Region. With the combined advantages of "high-standard equipment + full-cycle services", the company will help upgrade the regional energy industry and contribute "Chinese solutions" and "Chinese strength" to global energy security and sustainable development.
